Speaking of Recanati our thoughts lead us to its most illustrious characters – Giacomo Leopardi and Beniamino Gigli – whose places of life we can find, such as the houses that can be visited today.
In the lands of Recanati you can also discover and experience those places that inspired Leopardi’s poetry: the tower of the solitary sparrow, the hill of infinity strong>, the always blue Sibillini and a few country lanes, where one always expects to meet “our” damsel.
A fascinating historical centre which culminates in the main square where you can meet all the inhabitants of Recanati in an almost living-room setting full of art, music, villas, theaters and libraries.
In addition to culture, Recanati also offers delicious cuisine:
- rabbit in potacchio or stewed,
- the vincisgrassi,
- the ciauscolo (spreadable salami),
- the cucciole or snails (hence that the inhabitants of Recanati were called “cucciolettari”).
