Numana Alta and Numana Bassa<\/h2>\n

The town is divided into two areas: Numana Alta and Numana Bassa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Numana Alta represents the oldest part <\/strong> \u2013 the historic center \u2013 with houses in white stone<\/strong> of the Conero<\/strong>, the alleys<\/strong >, the Tower<\/strong><\/em> – an ancient ruin dating back to the Picene era<\/em> – and the Palazzo Vescovile<\/strong>, today the Town Hall overlooks the Piazza del Santuario <\/strong> where the church that houses the S.S. Crucifix<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Numana Bassa is the most modern part<\/strong> with the tourist port and bathing establishments.<\/p>\n

Promenade and beaches<\/h2>\n

The Numanese beaches begin with the Spiaggia del Frate or dei Frati<\/strong> and La Spiaggiola<\/em><\/strong>. To divide these wonders, the peak of Piazza Nuova<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After the port, the long beach of Numana Bassa begins<\/strong> which extends as far as Marcelli<\/strong>, a hamlet of Numana. This beach connected by a sidewalk invites you for morning and evening walks. It is a succession of bathing establishments that offer multiple services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Historical evolution<\/h2>\n

Numana dates back to ancient times<\/strong>. From being a very important commercial emporium<\/strong> of the Greek world \u2013 which later fell at the hands of a terrifying earthquake \u2013 the town was rediscovered \u2013 at the beginning of the 1900s \u2013 by the Roman nobles who made it their “summer home” .<\/p>\n
